Ralph "Newman" Harper, 81 years old of Loranger, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at North Oaks Medical Center.

He was born on Sunday, December 25, 1932, in Tickfaw.

He served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and received many Honors.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Willie "Billie Rae" Culbreath Harper; parents, Ralph Andrew Harper and Edythe Stevens Harper; son, Barry Harper; great-grandson, Mickey R. Turner; sister, Eva Lee Joiner; and 3 brothers, Wilbert Harper, Delmas Harper, and C. G. Harper.

Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Saturday, October 18, 2014, from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 1:00 pm at in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Rodney Taylor, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Stevens Cemetery.
