Crystal Olsen Hunter, 50, of Idaho Falls, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Crystal was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on March 4, 1964. She attended schools in Idaho Falls, and graduated from Skyline High School. Following graduation from cosmetology school, Crystal established a successful and rewarding business for many years. Crystal’s creativity and artistic talents as a hair stylist were a source of tremendous joy and satisfaction to her. Crystal enjoyed her service as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and cherished the many close personal relationships she developed with those with whom she served.

Crystal possessed a kind heart and exhibited genuine compassion for others. She had an infectious smile that brightened the lives of many people. Crystal derived great joy from her relationship with her two children, Brandon and Shantae Hunter. She loved watching them both excel in sports and worked hard to help them achieve their aspirations. Crystal was talented in any endeavor she chose to pursue. She enthusiastically planned and hosted a beautiful brunch for all her family each Christmas that was the highlight of the holiday season for everyone lucky enough to be invited. She enjoyed spending quiet hours planting flowers and tending to her garden.

She is survived by her daughter, Shantae Hunter, parents, Terry and VaLae Olsen, brother, Nick Olsen, sisters, CaTrina Hussey, Cassie Dustin, and Cindy Wheatley, daughter-in-law, Sheritee Hunter, grandchildren, Braylee and Boston Hunter. She was preceded in death by her son, Brandon Hunter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Summerfield LDS Ward, at 3721 Shadow Mountain Trail in Idaho Falls with Bishop Robert Meek officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
