CHESTER L. STRINGFELLOW, 85, of Bloomfield, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 19, 1991, at Lyons Convalescent Center.

Born October 21, 1905 in Greene County, he was the son of Truman and Aytchapahala Martindale Stringfellow. He was a member of the Solsberry American Legion and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice Wiles Haltom Stringfellow; one sister, Kathleen McCart of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife,Christina Jackson Stringfellow 1903-1929, two brothers, Edward Andrew 1919-1943 killed in WWII, Benjamin 1910-1910, and two sisters, Jesse Chloe 1904-1905, and Georgie Maxine 1917 - 1918.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Burial will be in the Switz City Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to the hour of service Wednesday.

Five year old son, Harold Dale Stringfellow was adopted by Chester's Aunt Flordella Martindale and her husband Ezra Brosman and Harold Dale's legal name was changed to Brosman.
