Mr. Harvey was born in Egeria, W.Va., on Sept. 11, 1912, to Clowney and Leona Harvey. He worked as an educator after college and then moved on to work in the West Virginia coalmines for approximately 10 years. In 1954, he went to work for Ford Motor Co. in Cleveland and upon retirement relocated to the local area. He and his wife, Beulah Harvey, had been residents of Fort Walton Beach since 1974.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 1795.
Mr. Harvey was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Beulah, and has missed her desperately since she passed away in January 1999. He was a wonderful and loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a good man and a gentle man, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew, loved and adored him. Most of all, we will miss his guidance and his mischief.
He was the beloved husband for 63 years of the late Beulah Mae Harvey of Fort Walton Beach. A wonderful and loving father to his two daughters, Jan Stover and her late husband Bob Stover of Fort Walton Beach, and Joan Bragg and her late husband Charles Bragg of Cleveland. Treasured and one-of-a-kind grandfather of Leah Stover-Scott and her husband Shannon Scott of Fort Walton Beach, Jaimie Bragg and his wife Betty of Medina, Ohio, Joanie Jukupcik and her husband Greg of Grand Rapids, Mich., Charles Bragg of Lakewood, Ohio, and the late Chris Bragg. He was the cherished great-grandfather of nine.
