Funeral services for Naomi R. Clemons, 88, Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James E. Brice Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler. Mrs. Clemons died Oct. 14, 2014, at The Hospice of East Texas.

She was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Mount Vernon and had resided the past 71 years in Tyler. She attended Emmett J. Scott High School. She was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher, president of the Mission Society, deaconess, choir member and member of the outreach mission. Mrs. Clemons was a retired child care professional.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Bobby W. (Tracy) Clemons, Tyler, Tommy C. (Monika) Clemons, San Antonio, Dwight F. (Diedre) Clemons, Aurora, Colorado; five daughters, Doris Johnson, Laura (Tony) Bradford, Ruby J. Platt, Letha A. (Alvin) Harold and Alma (Edward) Brooks, all of Tyler; one brother, Willie Ward, Dallas; one sister, Dorothy (Raymond) Smith, Tyler; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 2102 N. Owens Ave. Friday evening, Oct. 17, 2014.
