Della A. Ragsdale, the daughter of Frank Sewell and Maude Jane (Degase) Hitchcock, was born May, 28 1927, in Teresita, and carried home to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 14, 2014, in Tahlequah, at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 16 days.
Della was a member of the Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Teresita and served as the secretary and treasurer for many years. She loved the Lord and was faithful to serve him. She enjoyed her church and church family. She always loved to cook and serve others. By serving others and caring for others she showed the love of her Lord. She was a true servant to the Lord and to her community. Della touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren G. Ragsdale; her daughter, Marilyn Coppedge; and five brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her children, Alfred Ragsdale and wife Linda of Tahlequah, Mildred Graham and husband Leon of Broken Arrow, Sue Carmen of Tahlequah and Jane Osti Hitchcock of Tahlequah; her brother, Herbert Hoover Hitchcock of Tahlequah; her grandchildren, Wendy Briggs, George Coppedge and wife Regina, Catherine Elbabi and husband Nick, Kimberly Graham, Nic Larmon and wife Stacie, Heather Ragsdale–Stroup and husband Jeremy, and Courtney Summers; her great-grandchildren, Austin Briggs, Bailey Ragsdale, Crosby Larmon, Ruger Stroup, Adele Stroup, Sofia Elbabi, Afton Kessinger, and Krystof Coppedge; and her great-great-grandchild Dayson Kessinger. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
