Silent Reaper Calls
Nathaniel Edmunds, another pioneer, died at the family home in Wales last Thursday.

Mr. Edmunds was born in Merthyrlybvile, Wales, September 6, 1827. He embraced the LDS gospel in 1847, and married Jane Jones December 6, 1851. He came to America in 1856, crossing the plains with the hand cart company and reaching Salt Lake October 2, 1856. He lived for a short time in Spanish Fork, coming on to Wales in 1857, where he assisted in opening up the first Sanpete coal mine. He has been a lifelong church worker and has held many responsible positions.

Mr. Edmunds was the father of 8 children, 5 of them surviving him. They are John Edmunds of Salt Lake, Thos. J. Edmunds and Mrs. Eliza Anderson of Wales, and Mrs. Charlotte Parry and Mrs Sarah Sperry of this city. The funeral was held in Wales Tuesday afternoon, his two daughters and several other relatives from Manti attending.
