Mr. Tim Neal Smith, of Attalla, passed away on October 15, 2014. Funeral service will be held at l p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Richey will officiate. Graveside service and interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.

Mr. Smith was the mayor of Attalla from 1976 to 1980. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. Tim loved to have fun and enjoyed fishing, traveling and mowing grass. He also enjoyed sports, especially Auburn football and Atlanta Braves baseball. Mr. Smith founded and served as the owner/operator of Smith Farm Supply on Chandler Mountain in Steele. Preceding him in death were first wife, Myra McCombs Smith; parents, Jessie an Lela Smith; and brothers, Kent Smith and Jerry Smith.

Mr. Smith leaves behind loving wife, Patsy Smith; daughters, Teresa Smith Colvin, Stephanie Gider (husband, Dave) Staci McDowell (husband, Bengi); grandchildren, Cade McDowell and Cooper McDowell, Morgan Gider and Reese Gider; sisters-in-law, Jan Smith, Barbara Stevens (husband, Ray) Libby Hill (husband, Lashon), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
