Jesse was the youngest of 7 children. He fondly remembers the days growing up in a small town of Kelton, Utah. There are just ruins left now because of the train changing their route.
He told stories such as going to school in the only bar in town, having school during the day and then the owners serving liquor at night. He met his wife, Marie, through writing letters to each other, "pen-pals" as they were called then.
He moved to California in 1944 and married Marie. Both were true artists in the saddle making world. They retired in 1985 and helped as babysitters to their grandchildren whenever asked, which was often and never batted an eye!!
There were ups and downs in their lives, but knew there was a greater purpose for them when it came to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of which they were very proud.
The Fehlman family would like to thank Windsor the Ridge for the excellent care Dad received since 2011. We will miss you "grape", as granddaughter Hazel called him when she couldn't say grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Gustave & Josephine Fehlman; wife of 69 years, Marie; brothers, Fred, Chuck, Almy "Buck", Bill and Lamont; sister, Ann; son: Richard Fehlman; grandson, Kenny Fehlman.
Jesse is survived by his son; Gordon (Susan) Fehlman of Monterey; daughter, Francine (Randy) Ricca of Salinas; daughter-in-law; Kathy Fehlman of Gilroy; grandchildren, Craig (Shelly) Fehlman of Healdsburg; Matthew Fehlman of Monterey, Theresa Fehlman of Sacramento, Bonnie (Claude) Loftus of Paso Robles, Rose (Max) Blomberg of Templeton, Mia (Westen) Enstrom pf Nucla, CO; great-grandchildren, Caden Fehlman, Hazel & Elsie Loftus.
