Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Floyd Newman Bennett, age 81, of Winder, Georgia, who entered into rest Thursday, October 16, 2014. Mr. Bennett was born in Gainesville, Georgia, son of the late William Lonnie and Ethel LeMaster Bennett. Mr. Bennett was retired from Siemens Energy and Automation, was a member of Walnut Baptist Church in Hoschton, a Ordained Deacon and Choir Director. Mr. Bennett loved people, music, had a Heavenly voice and enjoyed working on genealogy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patricia Stanley of Winder, daughter P. Diane Frederick and her husband Frank of Hoschton, Georgia, son F. Richard Bennett and his wife Frankie of Bay Springs, Mississippi, daughter Catherine Bennett of Pensacola, Florida, sister Callie Bennett Pullen of Boston, Georgia, brother Benny Bennett of Gainesville, Georgia, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one soon to be great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Reverend Andy Atkinson officiating, burial will follow in the Walnut Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Hoschton, Georgia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 21, 2014 from 2:00 pm-3:00pm at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.

Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Walnut Baptist Church, 557 Highway 60, Hoschton, Georiga 30548.
