Oleva Mitchell, age 93 of Connersville, passed away on October 15, 2014 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home.
Born December 18, 1920 in Medora, IN, she is the daughter of the late John and Eulalia Thompson Sterling.
On August 4, 1938 she became the wife of Owen Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell died in 1978.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed her time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Janice Wahl of Dale, IN, Diana & Dan Teel of OH, Sandy & Jim Barrett of Connersville, Sherri & Wendel Harrison of Blooming Grove, IN, Gene & Elaine Mitchell of Indianapolis, David Mitchell of Indianapolis and Dennis Mitchell of Connersville a sister, Genivieve Crawley of Virginia Beach, VA; sixteen grandchildren, Jeri Ann Mitchell, Libby Simmons, Michael Gene Mitchell, Douglas Ray Mitchell, Michelle Lents, Lisa Roberts, Gina Mast, Michael Teel, Jennifer Dawson, Amy Hammons, Terry Gene Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell, Kimberly Sue King, Lori Marie Harrison, Hilary Lee Harrison and Wendel Nolan Ryan Harrison; 34 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Jerald Mitchell; five brothers, Carl, Harold, Ronnie, Robert and Johnny Sterling: two sisters, Norma Jean Cornett, and Christina Miller; and two granddaughters, Stacy Mitchell and Teresa Ann Barrett.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday October 18, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Wendel C. Harrison of the First Baptist Church of Blooming Grove officiating.
Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
