SPIVEY, Darrell age 88 of Hamilton passed away with his daughter by his side at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 9:52 PM. He was born in Hamilton on October 6, 1921 the son of John and Rose (Walton) Spivey. Darrell was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during World War II from 1942 to 1945 and was employed as a supervisor at Frigidaire in Dayton. On December 9, 1950 in Liberty, Indiana he married Verlie Mary Jarvis, and she preceded him in death in 2007. He is survived by a daughter, Sue (Jim) Smith of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Susan Elizabeth (Danny) Proffitt of Hamilton and Darrell Lawrence (Sarah) Smith of West Chester; two great-grandchildren, Noah Christian Smith and Lillie Michelle Smith; five sisters, Rosemary Richeson, Barbara Lakes, Evelyn Hensley, all of Hamilton, Janet (Kenneth) Harris of Oldsmar, Florida, and Virginia Milton of Plant City, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Timothy Eugene Smith; five brothers, Arnold "Nick," Calvin, Ronnie, Ralph and Marvin Spivey; and a sister, Elizabeth Harris.
