Bessie J. Maples, age 86, of the Dawnville Community, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo C. Maples; parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Sharp; sister, Jessie Sharp Silvers; brother, Joe Sharp.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Juanita & Charles Hicks of Cohutta; sister, Johnnie N. Blackwell of the Dawnville Community; grandchildren, Heather Hicks Tate and husband Paul Tate; nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. John Bagley officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m.
