J. Vivienne Swearingen, 100, Crawfordsville, died 11:50 a.m. Saturday in Lane House Nursing Home.

Mrs. Swearingen worked as a court reporter for the Montgomery County Circuit Court, retiring in September 1973 after 10 years of service. Her memberships included First Christian Church of Crawfordsville since 1938, Friendship Class, Circle 3, Friends of the Library and Senior Citizens Club.

She was born Nov. 17, 1905, at Darlington, to James V. and Mary M. Shawver Booker. She graduated from Huntington High School, West Virginia, in 1922. On June 8, 1929, she married Guy F. Swearingen at Crawfordsville. He died Dec. 10, 1964.

Survivors include one son, Thomas G. Swearingen, Uniondale; and one grandson.

Two brothers, Carl and Ralph Booker, are deceased.

Graveside services are scheduled 1 p.m. Saturday in Oak Hill North Cemetery with Rev. Keith Strain officiating. Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
