Mr. Otto Charles Langford Jr., 85, of Dalton died on September 12, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was the son of the late Otto and Kate Brock Langford and was also preceded in death by a brother, James B. Langford. Charles proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Wachovia Bank. Over the years, his community involvement included serving on the board of the Dalton Housing Authority, and treasurer of United Way and American Red Cross. Until his death, he was an active member of the Dalton Lions Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton, serving throughout the years as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and in many other capacities. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Betty LeRoy Langford; son, Reid Langford; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Ken Russell and Betsy and Jim Parker; grandchildren, Kent Russell and Katy Russell; several nieces and nephews also survive. The service will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, September 15th at the First Baptist Church of Dalton with Dr. Bill Ireland, the Rev. Phillip Cannon and Dr. Bill Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the atrium of the church prior to the service on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Dalton, P.O.
