WITHERBEE, N.Y. - Anna C. (Cembalski) Myers, age 93, of Witherbee, passed away on September 10th 2022.

She was born on February 19th 1929 to Wesley and Mary Cembalski

Anna spent her childhood in Witherbee, N.Y. and graduated from Mineville High School.

She attended State University at Albany, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and State University at Oneonta with her Master's Degree in Education.

She had professional memberships in the NY Teacher's Association and the NY Retired Teacher's Association.

She was energetically wooed by and married her long-time friend William "Bill" B. Myers in March of 1951. They began their life together in Cobleskill, N.Y. where she started her teaching career. Together they had four children; two sons and two daughters. She and Bill celebrated 64 years of happy and contented married life before Bill's death on April 23rd 2015.

After they purchased their first home on Carmen Road in Guilderland, N.Y. she continued with teaching in Schenectady, N.Y. until she and Bill returned to Witherbee, N.Y., built their new home and raised their family.

After a period of being a stay-at-home mom, Anna returned to teaching as a Substitute Teacher at the Mineville Elementary School, eventually accepting a full-time position. She ended her 21 plus year career as a 3rd Grade Teacher in the Moriah Central School District with her retirement in 1981.

Anna enjoyed a lifelong love of gardening and during retirement dabbled in photography, pottery making and went on a variety of cruises with her hubby. Cooking was also a favorite activity, especially when she had the opportunity to try a new recipe. Other favorite past-times were completing puzzles and beating her family in competitive Scrabble games.

She was an active member of the Westport/Elizabethtown Garden Club, as well as the Red Hats.

Anna was a devout Catholic and served her parish as a Eucharistic Minister in church and to home-bound parishioners, and of course, she shared her love of flowers by helping to keep the altar decorated. She participated in the Ursuline Associates of Mineville and the Altar Society of the Catholic Community of Moriah.

She was the last of the "2nd Generation" who enjoyed many years of extended family gatherings at the Myers Family camp on Lincoln Pond.

In addition to her husband Bill, Anna was predeceased by her parents, sister; Frances, brothers; Frank and Tommy, her sisters-in-law; Pat, Betty and Janet, her brothers-in-law; Paul and Bill, and nephew; Gary.

Arrangements by the Harland Funeral Home on 4279 Main Street in Port Henry, N.Y.

Anna will be buried in the Port Henry Union Cemetery beside her husband.
