Mr. Deyo was a native of Ben Hill County and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sylvania. He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from the Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association and the Screven County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mock Deyo, a daughter, Mrs. A. W. Robinson, III, Sylvania,; a son, Ed B. Deyo, Jr., Nashville, TN; two sisters, Mrs. W. T. Wright, Sr., and Jacqueline Deyo, Fitzgerald; and a brother, O. B. Deyo, McRae.
