Phyllis E. Sharp, 93, Kokomo, passed away in her home on October 14, 2014 at 9:55 AM. She was born May 31, 1921 in Ervin Township of Howard County, to John G. and Bessie K (Carey) Price. On February 2, 1946, she married Ora E. Sharp.

Phyllis graduated from Ervin High School in 1939. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and former member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, at both churches she was an active member in many areas. Phyllis was employed at Haynes Stellite Co. for 7 years during WWII and Relience MFD for 3 years. She went on to work at Delco as a Laboratory Technician for 31 years until she retired. She was also the Founder and First President of Delco Alumni Club. Phyllis was also a former member of Burlington Eastern Star.

Phyllis enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit all the US states, Europe, Canada and Panama Canal. By far her favorite place to visit was Alaska. Her hobbies included building the plastic villages for her husband’s train collection, square dancing, and gardening.

Surviving is her husband, Ora; sister Hope Smith, Kokomo; nephew John D and Helen Price, Frankfort, IN, Jack E. and Vicki Smith; niece Rebecca and Kenneth Berryman; several great nephews and nieces; very good friends James and Kathleen Emrich, Amboy, IN, Angela and Kevin (Landon and Greta) Schnipple, Fishers, IN, James and Heather (Gracie and Amelia) Emrich, Macomb Township, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Meredith A. Price, brother-in-law William A. Smith, and a great niece Jonna Wyatt.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, October 20, 2014 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, with Rev. Dr. P. Mark Hill officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Kokomo.
