Ronald "Ron" Wayne Holcomb, 73, of Mount Carmel, passed away on September 2, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville IN.
He was born on May 5, 1941 in Wabash County IL, the son of Jerry and Eva (Dicus) Holcomb.
He married Lois Adams on April 6, 1961 in Wabash County IL and she survives.
Ron was a family man and enjoyed the time he spent with them. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He also loved his dog, Coco. In his free time he enjoyed working in his garage making gifts for his family and friends. He loved fishing on the river which led to being co-owner of Holcomb and Adams Fish Market. Ron was skilled at making fish nets by hand. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Allendale. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois; children, Terry (Michelle) Holcomb of Owensville, IN, Steve Holcomb and Pamela (Frank) Smith both of Mount Carmel, and Tammy (Clyde) Thompson of St. Francisville, IL; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Walter; brother, Jerry Holcomb; father and mother in law, Alfred and Mildred Adams; and brother in law Roy Adams.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Friday, September 5, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Allendale with Pastor Bob Harting officiating. Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 11:00am to 12:30pm, Friday, September 5, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Allendale.
