Donna Kay Fredrickson Barton went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2014, at home surrounded by family. Born on October 1, 1943, in Lindsborg, Kansas, to Kenneth and Lois Fredrickson, Donna was a proud member of the Girl Scouts. She moved to Topeka in 1954, and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1961.

It was while working as a purchaser for Dupont that she met Dave Barton, whom she fell in love with and married in 1970. Donna was a member of First United Methodist Church for many years. She served as their receptionist for nine years, and touched many people during that time. Donna believed her greatest accomplishment was being a mom, and was known for her hospitality and service to others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and survived by her devoted husband, Jon David; her two children, Dana (Jason) Weaver and Michael (Katherine) Barton and two grandchildren, Weston and Eloise. Donna is also survived by her brother, Jay Fredrickson, his wife Lynne and their son, Tony.

Funeral services will be at Klasse Chapel at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 18th at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Donna will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17th, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the FUMC Youth Department, the Topeka Rescue Mission, Midland Care, or the ASTRA Scholarship Fund through LeadingAge Kansas.
