Bob was the beloved husband of Thelma Theresa (Keim) Thornton (deceased). He was the devoted father to Gordon L. (Cathy) Thornton of DeSoto, Missouri, Bruce N. Thornton of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Steven M. (Carol) Thornton of Festus, Missouri, Timothy R. (Robin) Thornton of Rosel, Missouri and Paul (Priscila) Thornton of Dittmer, Missouri. Loving brother of Jerry (Rochelle) Thornton, Bernice (Louis deceased) Arnold, William (Barb) Thornton, and the late "Chick" (Deloris deceased) Thornton, Clarence (Alma Jean survives) Thornton, Jr. and Dean (Alma Jean survives) Thornton. Bob was the cherished Grandfather to 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. He was a beloved Uncle, cousin and friend. He was a devoted family man who loved to fish and was an avid deer hunter. He loved building and repairing just about anything. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services: Visitation from 1-8 pm Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Heiligtag Lang Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold MO 63010. There is second visitation at the funeral home from 9-10 am, Monday, May 3, 2021, followed by the funeral at 10 am. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery.
