In 1825 Thomas was listed as a licensed Grocer and Spirit dealer in Balfron. Thomas was an Innkeeper at the Black Bull in Gartmore in 1855 and then later at Kingshouse in Balquhidder. He also was a cattle breeder for Thomas Hill Cattle. He occupied the Craigend Farm for a period of time raising his cattle.
Per death certificate, Thomas was the son of David Hill and Katherine Innes. He died at Balquhidder at his home at Kingshouse at the age of 85. Cause of death was chronic bronchitis, general dropsy and disease of the heart. Per burial record he was buried on 04 March 1863 at Gartmore Church Cemetery.
