Eric Carpenter Jacks
July 3, 1961 - October 4, 2014

Eric Carpenter Jacks, age 53, unexpectedly went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 4, 2014
Although his death was sudden, his family takes great comfort in knowing that he went peacefully while doing what he loved , running in nature. Eric was a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. Earning a BS in Biology, he also held a BS in Aerospace Engineering from MTSC. He was an airline Captain, and Pilot-in –Command at Corporate Flight Management, In Smyrna, TN.

Eric was born in Chattanooga, but had lived in Murfreesboro, TN for the last 25 years. He will be remembered by those who loved him for his wonderful sense of humor, his generosity, and his love for adventure, and animals.

Eric is survived by his parents Jerry and Elaine Jacks of Hixson; his two sons ,who were his pride and joy, Daylan Martin and Aaron Connor Jacks of Murfreesboro; one sister and Brother-in-law Janet and Kevin Connelly of Cleveland, TN; two brothers Dr. Alan and Janice Jacks of Connelly Springs, N.C. and Robert and Patricia Jacks of Hixson. He is also survived by a nephew Colton Connelly, and four nieces Rebecca (David) Frady, Mary Connelly, Anna and Alyssa Jacks, Mikaela Jamian and Nathaniel Frady.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 10-11 am. Funeral service for Eric will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday, Oct. 8 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Alan Jacks officiating
Interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens

In lieu of flowers, if you wish, you may donate to one of Eric's favorite charities, Make-A- Wish, Habitat for Humanity, or Farm Sanctuary.

Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, Highway 153, Hixson, Tennessee 37343.
