'Schatzie' as she was fondly known to her beloved husband, was born June 8, 1915 in Fredericksburg to Herman W. and Daisy Lee Ottmers Durst. Mrs. Giese was a homemaker and devoted herself to her husband and her family. She was a woman of great faith and member of Life Family Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Geraldine Allen; sister, Ella Bueche; brothers, George Durst, Marvin Durst, Clarence Durst, and Dick Durst.
Mrs. Giese is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, George Giese; one daughter, Carolyn Fessler and her husband Richard of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Scott Allen, Mark Fessler and wife Rachel, and Brent Fessler and wife Kierstan; three great-grandchildren, Brendan Fessler, Kayla Emily Fessler, and Mackenzie Fessler; one sister, Hilda Wendel and husband Lee of Doss, TX. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Giese will be held on Tuesday (today), February 10, 2004 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 12:00 Noon at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with Pastor Odell Allen of Life Family Church officiating. Concluding Services and Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North where she will be laid to rest. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
