NEW YORK -- Richard Alston, 80, of Brooklyn, died July 31 at Brooklyn Hospital. He was formerly of the Pocotaligo community in South Carolina and lived most of his life in New York City. He attended public schools in Jasper County, S.C.
SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Delia Peterson of Antwerp, N.Y.; two brothers, Ephraim Alston of Brooklyn and the Rev. Joseph Alston of Pocotaligo, S.C.; two sisters, Hattie Mae Pinckney of Sheldon, S.C., and Miriam McDonald of Detroit; three grandchildren and other relatives.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Pocotaligo, burial in Frampton Cemetery in Point South, S.C - Savannah Now, Aug 1998
