Carrie Ford, 92, of Longview passed away Sept.5, 2014, at the Hospice Care Center.
She was born in Clarksville, Ark., on Sept . 29, 1921, to Charlie and Myrtle Hardgrave.
Carrie married Kenneth Ford, in 1951 they moved to Longview, where she retired from St. John medical Center's housekeeping department. She enjoyed reading, walking, embroidery, quilting and playing cards. The wonderful people at the dialysis clinic helped extend Carrie's life for the past five years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Ford in 2006, and a grandson Ken Farnsworth.
Carrie is survived by her children, Neal in Terrell, Texas, Sue Farnsworth in Kelso, Karen Caines (David) of Kalama and Kenny Ford (Kathy); eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Hardgrave; and her close friends, Charlotte Heidt-Houghtlen and Flo Darnschen.
She was loved by all.
A service is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday at VFW post 1045, 4311 Ocean Beach highway in Longview.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the community home health & hospice, P.O. 2067, Longview, WA. 98632
