Mrs. Mary Louise Fields Clements, 91, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014. Mrs. Clements was born in Durham County, the daughter of the late Mary Belle Dowdy Fields and the late Robert Horace Fields.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Holton Clements; brothers, Keith Fields and Herbert Fields; and a sister, Mattie Lee Cobb.

She was a 1941 graduate of Durham High School. In her early years, she taught Sunday school and was a leader for GA's and YWA at Westwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Clements was a former Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and on committees for the Boy Scouts. She was a member of the Margaret McKinnon Sunday School Class of Grey Stone Church where she served on the Personnel Committee and the Yates Baptist Association. She had served as a precinct judge for 25 years for the Durham County Board of Elections.

Her later years involved senior citizen activities at Grey Stone and exercise programs at the Wellness Institute. She enjoyed her son's farm and the bird feeders at home provided by her granddaughter's husband, Scott. She turned her downstairs into a playroom for her great-grandchildren and was a "cat sitter" for Brazen, her daughter's cat.

Mrs. Clements is survived by her children, Brenda Roberson and husband Dr. T. M. Roberson, Travis Clements and wife Linda, and Terry Lee Clements ("the love of her life!"); grandchildren, Kimberly Roberson, Dr. Tiffany Roberson Vines and husband Dr. Scott Vines, Dr. Tara Roberson, Dr. Deuce Roberson and wife Allison, Kelly Clements Misenheimer and husband Bryan, and Blake Clements and wife Brittany; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Hill, Turner Roberson, Trey Mooring, Sydney Hill, Holton Roberson, Connor Vines, Kirby Roberson, Justin Mooring, Luke Roberson, Brayden Vines and Pearson Misenheimer.

A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday 3 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery, Section 16, with Dr. Clay Waters and Rev. Johnny Hewett officiating.
