Oren “Woody” Woodworth Jr., 79, of Oconto, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Bellin Hospital with family by his side. Oren was born November 14, 1934 in Oconto to the late Oren A. and Norma (Weidenhaft) Woodworth. Oren graduated from Oconto High School class of ‘53. He married Audrey Brabant on August 25, 1956, celebrating 58 years of happy marriage. Oren was always an active man. After marriage he worked many jobs, including Red Owl and Cruiser boats. In 1965 he found the job that he kept till retirement, working on the Oconto Police Department, starting out as a patrolman, walking the beat, to retiring as Chief of Police. Oren enjoyed building dune buggies, motorcycle riding and camping with his many good friends. He was very good at carpentry work and auto repair and with six children we kept him busy doing both. He also enjoyed spending time after retirement restoring his 1957 Chevy. Spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren was Oren’s greatest joy. Oren was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto.

Oren is survived by his wife Audrey Woodworth; five children, Tim (special friend Rita Zehr) Woodworth, Judy (Skip) Colosimo, Steven (Janette) Woodworth, Gail (Richard) Schneider, Patti Jo (Jeff) Ernst; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Woodworth; and was blessed with twenty two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also survived by four siblings, Ken (Pat) Woodworth, LaVonne (Jerry) Brown, Barb (Greg) Dyer and Doug (JoAnn) Woodworth; brother-in-law, Jerry Saleski; sisters-in-law, Collette Woodworth, Dedee Woodworth; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey, 2 brothers, Lloyd Woodworth, Gerald “Woody” Woodworth, sister, Arbutus (Woodworth) Saleski and one great-granddaughter, Arianna.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 9 PM Tuesday, October 7, 2014 with prayer services by Deacon Walter Kaszynski at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 8, from 2 to 3 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3 PM Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Bob Karuhn officiating. Burial will be at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
