Janie was born December 13, 1931 in Mount Pleasant. She was a graduate of East Texas Teachers College in Commerce with a B.S. and a Masters Degree, a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church in Talco, and was a school teacher for 35 years at Reinhardt School in Dallas. Janie was on the Executive Board of Dallas Retired Teachers Association. She was in Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma for over 50 years.
Janie Wilson passed away Friday, on her 82nd birthday. She was born in Mount Pleasant, Texas, the daughter of Ila Blalock and step-father, Harold Williams. She was an only child who spent her lifetime in Texas.
She held a master’s degree in elementary education from East Texas Teachers College in Commerce. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, International Society for Key Teaching Professionals. After graduation, she and her close friend, Gerry Moore both began teaching at Reinhardt. They retired together in 1986.
Wilson is survived by her special friend, Gerry Moore of Dallas, and cousin, T.G. Temples of Round Rock. A graveside service was held Dec. 17 in Talco, Texas.
