Dwight E. Rose, age 53 of Nederland, Texas died Sunday, October 12, 2014 in Groves, Texas.

He was born on August 17, 1961 in San Antonio to Ada Mae Johnson and Donald Gene Rose and had been a long time resident of the area.

Dwight was an artist and he also enjoyed collecting coins, sport shooting, traveling and collecting antiques.

He is survived by his sons, Dylan James Rose and Derick Gene Rose and his wife, Katie, grandson, Hunter Rose, granddaughter, Annabelle Partain, sisters, Donna Curl and Darlene Fontenot and her husband, Trent, brother, Donald Glen Rose and his wife, Deborah, nieces, Jessica Lynne Tucker and Hannah Marie Fontenot, nephews, Mathew Stephens, Brandon Stephens, Christopher Paul Rose, Michael Glen Rose, great-nephews and niece, Gavin Bodin, Brody Stephens and Rylee Price-Ray.

A gathering of Mr. Rose’s family and friends will begin at 12 noon with his funeral service to follow at 2pm Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street in Nederland, Texas.

His final resting place will be at Houston National Cemetery, Houston at a later date.
