Double Funeral. Tomorrow, October 12th, the people of Crates and vicinity for miles around will gather to pay the last sad tribute of respect to two of the aged and respected women of that vicinity. They are Mrs. Jonathan Reinsel and Mrs. Thomas Aaron, both member of the Catholic congregation at St. Nicholas Church. Mrs. Jonathan Reinsel, mother of J.T. Reinsel, Esq. of this place died very suddenly on Saturday night, October 9th. She had seemed to be in her usual health and on Saturday evening read the papers and talked until about ten o'clock when she retired. Soon afterward she was taken with a fit of coughing and began choking up. In ten minutes thereafter she was dead. Mrs. Reinsel was the daughter of Daniel Aaron and a sister of Mrs. Daniel English, who is the only one living now of a large family of children. She leaves beside her husband three sons and six daughters, three of the daughters are still at home unmarried. The sons are Ed, of Redbank township, Met of Limestone Township and John T. of Clarion. The daughters are Mrs. John E. Aaron, Mrs. Powell Fiscus, of Crates, and Mrs. William Weaver. She also leaves a large circle of more distant relatives and friends. She was about 65 years of age. Mrs. Thomas Aaron died at the home of her son-in-law John Ruefner in Limestone township on Sunday morning, October 10th, about three o'clock. She had been in for a long time and her death was not unexpected. She was 78 years of age. Her maiden name was Osborne. Mrs. Aaron leaves two sons and one daughter. The sons are Joseph Aaron of Corsica and Daniel Aaron of Wilked-barre and the daugher is Mrs. John Ruefner at whose home she died. Mrs. Aaron and Mrs. Reinsel are members of tow of the oldest and most respectable families in the county and leave a host of relatives and friends. The funerals will occur at nine o'clock on Tuesday, October 12th, at the St. Nicholas Church at Crates. Rev. J.J. Ruddy of New Bethlehem will conduct the services. (Issue of 10/18/1897): In our mention of the death of Mrs. Jonathan Reinsel of Redbank township we unintentionally made a mistake in saying that Mrs. Daniel English was the only surviving member of the Thomas Aaron family. Mr. Henry Aaron, father of C.A. Aaron of this place is a brother of Mrs. English. He resides with his son-in-law Mr. Dennis Keck of Redbank township and we cannot concieve [sic] how we should forget him. The name Powell Fiscus should have been Paul Fiscus.
