Clarence James "Clancy" Becker, 79, died October 12, 2014 at the Senior Suites in Keystone with his family at his side following a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Clarence James Becker, known to family and friends as "Clancy" was born April 21, 1935 at Watkins to Michael A. and Marie A. (Davis) Becker and graduated from the Norway High School in 1953. Following graduation, he served his nation in the U.S. Marine Corps. On August 15, 1970 he was united in marriage to Sharon Lee Dombroski at Olgesby, IL.

Clancy was a Sheet Metal Contractor and owner of Corr Decks, Inc. He was a member of Thomas F. Bevins American Legion Post #148 of Van Horne where he was a Past Commander and also a member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Assoc. Local #263 in Cedar Rapids. In his leisure he enjoyed playing cards, golfing, carving walking sticks, mushroom hunting and preparing Hasenpfeffer for the annual Becker Christmas Parties, and he truly loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals. Clancy especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and family at Christmas Mountain Village at the Wisconsin Dells.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Keystone; his sons, Todd (Julie) Becker of Cedar Rapids and Ryan Becker of Van Horne; his daughters, Kellee (David) Jurgens of Van Horne and Tracee (Jason) Orman of Erie, IL; his grandchildren, Trevor (Ashley) Harvey, Jade Becker, Brilee Jurgens, Dalton Jurgens, Kailee Becker, Kale Orman and Chase Becker; his great grandchild, Trevor L.M. Harvey; his step-great grandchildren, Jaden and Madison, Rogers; his siblings, Hazel Walton, Glenn (Shirley) Becker, Dorothy Elgas, Rose Mary Thompson, Richard Becker, Fred (Vivian) Becker, and Shirley (Dale) Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Joseph M. Becker, Lillian M. Becker, Michael W. Becker, Albert J. Becker, Alice Struzynski, Berniece Ginther, Kathleen Naso, William "Bill" Becker, and Donald E. Becker.

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne on Thursday, 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., with Father Craig Steimel as Celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Norway with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Thomas F. Bevins American Legion Post #148 of Van Horne & Iowa Military Funeral Honors.
