Mrs. Sarah Willie “Bill” Stanley, age 91, of Gordon County died at home Thursday, October 9, 2014. She was born in Gordon County on January 30, 1923, daughter of the late Willie Claude Smith and Vola Etner Hall Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Matthew Stanley.
Miss Willie retired from Crown Crafts Inc. She lived the greater part of her life in Gordon County. She was a long time member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was very involved in missions, mission education, bible study, and was a member of the Willie Stanley Women Mission group. Miss Willie was a volunteer at the Blewer Food Bank for twenty-three years, where she ministered to many. She loved her Lord, church, family, friends, and flowers.
