Francis A. "Frank" Fischer beloved husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord, Sunday October 12, 2014 at the age of 77.
Francis was born October 17, 1936 to Daniel and Anna (Wilde) Fischer in Olfen, Texas. He graduated from Ballinger High School in 1955. He served in the Texas National Guard. He married the love of his life, Barbara Havlak, on November 17, 1962. They shared 51 loving years together.
Francis farmed for many years in the Miles community. In 1986, Francis and Barbara moved to Royse City, Texas. Francis owned two businesses, Royce City Feed and 616 Service, which he still operated.
Francis was an avid baseball fan, not only enjoying watching the game, but he also coached his son and his friends in the Miles Little League and Pony League for many years. One of his greatest passions was watching his grandchildren in numerous sports and band events. Francis enjoyed playing cards and board games with his family. Francis always had a smile on his face, a pleasant word for all, and he maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Philip Havlak, his brothers Ivan and Harvey Fischer, and sisters Marcella Zly and Arlene Gunyon.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; his daughter Barnice Agee and husband Cass, of Duncan, Oklahoma; his son, Wayne Fischer and wife Amy of Miles; his six grandchildren Tommy, Shane, and Kaitlin Agee and Sarah, Kyle, and Travis Fischer; his brother Daniel Fischer Jr., and wife Harriet of Olfen; his sister LaRita Jansa and husband Daniel of Wall; his mother-in-law Sadie Havlak of San Angelo; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers are his six grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Alberts, Randy Fischer, Harvey Havlak, Randy Havlak, Matthew Rottman, and Zane Sewell.
Rosary will be recited Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 15 at 10:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen with Father Ariel Lagunilla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery in Olfen.
A special thanks is given to his hospice nurse, Frankie Sewell, for helping make his final days comfortable and for her knowledge and support she gave the family.
