Lombard, Noreen Diane – Age 91. Reid, Linda and Danny sadly announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Noreen Lombard (Williams) in the Magnolia Long Term Care facility in Enfield on February 9, 2022.
Born in Moncton in 1930, Mom moved to Truro as a teenager where she completed high school and Normal College. It was in her first year of teaching in Medford in 1948 that Mom met Dad. She put her teaching career aside to raise five children and towards the end of her career, she also raised two grandchildren. She re-started her teaching in the mid 60's at her second one room schoolhouse in Alton. The rest of her long and distinguished teaching career was spent in Hilden. With seemingly boundless energy, Mom put her "all" into everything she did.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Iola Armstrong and Reginald Williams; her husband, Charles Lombard; her sons, Charles and Kirby; grandson, Dillan and great grandson, Sebastien.
Mom is survived by children, Reid (Eileen), Linda (Patrick) and Danny (Elaine); brothers, Dale, Deep River, ON, Reginald, Truro; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thanks to all the wonderful caregivers and staff at the Magnolia for taking such great care of Mom. In particular, "thank you," Sheri. Your love and kindness towards our mother will always be remembered.
There will be no visitation. Burial will take place in the Bible Hill Cemetery at a later date. No flowers, please. Donations in Mom's memory may be made to the IWK Health Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
