She was born July 29, 1925 in Harrison, Ohio, one of six children of Philip and Emma Radenheimer Haas. A graduate of the Harrison High School, she attended the Cincinnati Business School where she completed her bookkeeping studies and received a Graduation Certificate.
On August 24, 1945, she was married to Howard Clawson in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he was stationed in the U.S. Army during the final months of World War II. Following his honorary discharge, they moved to Connersville, where they lived until Mr. Clawson's death, on March 8, 1997. Following his death, Mrs. Clawson returned to Harrison for residence.
Formerly employed at McQuay-Norris, she had worked several years as a bookkeeper in the Payroll Department.
She was a member of Saint John United Church of Christ in Harrison. During her leisure time she enjoyed playing Euchre and Bingo at the Senior Center in Harrison.
Survivors include a son: Larry Clawson and wife Carol, of Connersville; two grandchildren: Amy Elleman and husband Tony of Rushville and Tim Clawson of Connersville; a great-granddaughter: Kylee Elleman of Rushville; two sisters: Alda Kimpel of West Harrison, Indiana and Orletta Cress of Harrison, Ohio; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband of nearly 52 years, Howard Clawson, she is preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Dolores Pelzel; and two brothers: Edwin Haas and Wilbert Haas.
Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Bill Helms, pastor of the First United Methodist Church at 3 PM on Friday, March 16, 2007 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may call from 1- 3 PM on Friday. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home or directly to the Harrison Senior Center, 300 George Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.
