Bonnie Jean Harvey, 75, of Terre haute, passed away at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born Nov. 17, 1937, in Terre haute, to Jasper F. Belleu and Florence Thomas Belleu. She spent many years making a difference in the life of her community by volunteering time with Catholic Charities weather it was serving lunches in the soup kitchen or helping a young mother find items to fill her home from the Bethany House. Bonnie always did so with love and compassion. Because of her outstanding volunteer work, she was the adult recipient of the Golden Rule Award given by JC Penney in partnership with the VAC. Her efforts were also recognized from the former President George W. Bush congratulating her on her achievements.
She is survived by her children, Kathy A. Bennett of West Terre Haute, Robert M. Harvey Jr., Layton S. Harvey and his wife Kris, and John F. Harvey, all of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert M. Harvey Sr.; her beloved daughter, Julie Etta Rogers; a son-in-law, Kenneth W. Bennett; four brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services for Bonnie will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St. in West Terre Haute. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until service time Saturday.
