Ronald Wayne Mobley, PhD., age 62, died suddenly Thursday, October 9.
Ron was born July 23, 1952 in Raleigh, NC, son of Sam and Rachel Mobley.
He attended ECU but his undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees were from NCSU. Ron relished his role in teaching nursing and was a well-respected community college professor.
He loved his dogs and was kind and helpful to anyone in need. He was known for his tall storytelling, which was frequently embellished yet true at its core, based on his vast travels and wild adventures. Ron Mobley was truly one of a kind. He had a love for skulls, hawk's claws, bugs, snakes, Mexican masks, Scientific American, far away cultures, rock and roll, and the bizarre.
Surviving: brother Sammy Mobley and wife, Berni; nephews Clifton Mobley and wife Karen and daughter, Emerson; Andrew Mobley and wife Shannon; niece, Alex Mobley; and former wife and devoted friend, Lori Hume.
