Rachel Elizabeth "Nickie" Ellis, 82, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 in the Hospice Center of Charleston, Mount Pleasant SC.
Nickie was born in Savannah Georgia on December 9, 1931. She was a daughter of the late Edwin Lawton Ellis and Rachel Steinmeyer Ellis. She held at master's degree from Emory University and retired as head extension librarian with the Charleston County Library System. She loved to read and travel. She was a member of the Choir at Park Circle Presbyterian Church of North Charleston and Barnwell Presbyterian Church. She played the piano at the Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church. She spent her life spoiling her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her sister, Marion Deveraux (Ellis) Inabinett of Barnwell; nieces, Lynn Inabinett (Dan) Rozier of Portsmouth VA. And Rebecca Lawton Inabinett of Summerville; nephews Creighton Smith Inabinett and Ervin Wayne (Roxanne) Inabinett of Barnwell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday October13, 2014 in the Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening at Mole Funeral Home from 5-7 pm. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Center of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant SC 29464.
