Dorothy Lorraine Utsman Guinn, 80, of Blountville, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at her residence. Born on April 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John Laymon Utsman and Mary Ruby Messimer Utsman. Mrs. Guinn was a member of Blountville Christian Church for over 50 years where she served as their long time pianist. She loved making porcelain dolls, crafts and sewing of all sorts such as quilting and silk ribbon embroidery. She also enjoyed cooking which included her family saying that she "made the best meatloaf and cornbread." In addition to her parents, John Laymon Utsman and Mary Ruby Messimer Utsman, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil Utsman and Laymon Utsman. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 61 years, James Guinn; her daughters, Debbie Robertson and her husband, Phil, and Becky McClellan and her husband, James; grandchildren, Brian Robertson, Nathan Robertson and his wife, Krista and baby "R", Noelle Patterson and her husband, Brian, Mende Peters and her husband, Tommy, and Andy McClellan; great-granddaughter, Olivia Peters; sister, Linda King and her husband, Dickey; brothers, Gerald Utsman and his wife Nancy, Sherman Utsman and John Utsman and his wife Ann; and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday evening, September 8, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Blountville Christian Church. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Minister's Dwight Shaffer and Tommy Peters officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in the Garden of Hope in East Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to express their gratitude to her special caregivers as well as the staff at Caris Health Care and the staff of NHC in Johnson City for their love and compassion they gave to Mrs. Guinn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blountville Christian Church, c/o Dr. Freddy Martin's Ministry, PO Box 528, Blountville, TN 37617.
