Jeanette was born August 24, 1940 in Tellico Plains, TN to the late Manie B. and Mamie Lee Ellis Bell; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Franklin Mallett, Sr.; a great-grandchild, Jayla Patterson; a son-in-law, Eddie King; brothers, Dougan Bell, Joe Bell, Clinton Bell, Claude Bell and Glen Bell; and a sister, Geraldine Tankersley.
Jeanette was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Church of God of The Union Assembly. She loved cooking and gardening, but the true love of her life was her family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Franklin and Heather Mallett of Chatsworth, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Herbie Butler of Rock Hill, SC, Lisa and Michael Smith of Calhoun, GA and Jan King of Dalton, GA; sisters, Ermalee Gourley, Geneva Philpot, Arlene and Johnny Rose; brothers, Clyde and Betty Bell of Indiana, Jesse and Shelby Bell of Chatsworth, GA; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jeanette Bell Mallett will be held Sunday, October 12 at 3 p.m. at the Church of God of The Union Assembly with Reverend Charlie Bell officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the West Hill Cemetery with Jadren Butler, Josh Smith, Johnny Young, Jarrod Patterson, Jackson Mallett and Eric Peters serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, October 11 and after 10 a.m. Sunday, October 12.
