McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native Betty Jean "Gurney" Smith, age 88, was born November 14, 1925 and died October 12, 2014 following a brief illness.
Retired from McMinnville Garment and a member of Westwood Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Johnathan Lloyd and Allie Louise Stanley.
She was married April 26, 1950 to Robert C. Smith who preceded her in death on June 13, 1983.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Travis "Bubba" Steakley, brother J. L. Stanley and sister Billie Bottoms.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in High's Chapel. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's.
