Samuel J. L. Barrickman is the son of Thomas H. Barrickman and Sarah Ann Barrickman (nee Springer).

He was a laborer and lived his life as a single man.
He lived with his sister Martha M. "Mattie" Woods in Tarentum, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Samuel died of a heart condition in the Allegheny County Home, Collier Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, after a 20 day stay.

Valley Daily News published Thursday, January 24, 1935:

Samuel Barrickman, 70, died yesterday morning at 11:15 o'clock, in the county hospital, where he had gone for treatment January 3, for a heart ailment. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Barrickman and was born in Petrolia, Pa., coming here when a young man of 20, and has resided in this vicinity ever since, having made his home with his sister, Mrs. Homer Woods, the past 27 years. He leaves his four sisters, Mrs. Henry Charles, of West Eleventh avenue; Mrs. Harry Alderson, of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Homer Woods, of Highland street, and Beulah Davidson, of Stockton, California. Funeral plans have not been completed.
