Born in Arkansas, Winnie Goin was raised in Graves County, Kentucky. She was the second of the eight children of James Henry and Isophene Eudora Stafford Goin. She was my grandmother's only sister.

Following the death of her mother about 1903, her father married Altie Lee Nance and they had another son.

She married James Buchanan Holland on December 12, 1900 in Massac County, Illinois. They had three children, James Cull, Carl, and Carmon. Mr. Holland died March 11, 1906.

She married James Logan Nance July 6,1907 in Mayfield, Kentucky. They had two daughters, Meryl Jacqueline and Eva Lee.

Mrs. Nance was 97 at the time of her death.
