Gwen was born in Kingsville, TX to Willard Mitchell "Mike" and Anna Louise Fisher Goff. Her father was in the U.S. Navy at the time of her birth, and was station in Kingsville. She was the oldest of their five children. After his discharge, when Gwen was six years old, the family relocated to Palestine, TX where she lived most of her life until 1995. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1978. In May, 1995, she and her husband, Gary, their son, Dalen, and her mother, Louise, moved to Lake City, CO where they operated a craft business for about a year and a half before returning to Texas in late 1996. At that time, she, Gary and Dalen moved to Cooper, TX where her husband was a funeral director. She battled cancer for 3 1/2 years, and kept a positive spirit the whole time. She and her beloved Gary would have been married 34 years 6 1/2 weeks after her death. She was a Christian, and she lived it everyday. She loved her Lord and was ready to go home to Him. She is loved and missed by many, many friends and family.

Her son, Richard Keith "Ricky" Goff, is buried in Babyland in Palestine City Cemetery. Her daughter, Dana Wynelle Hobbs, is buried in Bullard Cemetery in Bullard in Smith County, TX.

Gwen Hobbs, 54 of Cooper, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014. at her home. Funeral services will be held in Delta Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014. The Rev. Gary Regan will be officiating. Graveside services and interment will be in Holly Springs Cemetery in Anderson County at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday with Glen Gusa officiating.
Gwen was born in Kingsville on Aug. 16, 1960, the daughter of Mike Goff and Louise Fisher Goff. She married Gary Hobbs on Nov. 19, 1980. She was a retired land man for Exxon Contractors. Gwen was an avid genealogist and a talented artist besides being a loving mother and wife. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City, Colorado, and had lived in Cooper for 17 years.She is survived by her husband Gary Hobbs; her mother, Louise Goff; two sons, Dalen Hobbs and wife Michelle and Damon Hobbs and wife Meridith; two sisters, Sheri Warren and husband Billy Joe and Carole Harris and husband Robert; two brothers, Michael Goff and Patrick Goff; two fantastic granddaughters, Kaili Hobbs and Audrey Hobbs; along with nephews and nieces.
Gwen was preceded in death by her father; a son, Ricky Goff; and a daughter, Dana Hobbs.
