Grandfather of Nathan Lautenschlager of Nashville, TN, Alyssa Habing of San Francisco, CA Andrew Habing of Gilroy, CA, Natalie Kretz Rodrigues (Ryan) of Hollister, CA and Bryan Kretz of McKinley, CA. Great-Grandfather of Cash and Zephyr of Hollister. Brother of Della Knapp of Elko, NV. Proceeded in death by 6 siblings.
Born in Ogden, Utah; raised in Elko, Nevada. Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Assistant City Manager of Santa Clara before moving to Gilroy in 1963 to become City Administrator until his retirement. Lifetime member of Gilroy Elks and Chamber of Commerce. Past member of Gilroy Kiwanis. Past volunteer of South Valley Community Theatre, United Way, Gilroy Garlic Festival, Bonanza Days and the Vagabums RV group.
