For Joe A. Elzen
Scheduled Today


Funeral services .for Joe A. Elzen, Sr., 81, who died of a heart attack in his home here at Minden at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, will be held Thursday (today) at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic church.

Officiating at the service will be Rev. M.L. Plauche, pastor of 'St. Paul's Catholic church where Mr. Elzen was a member. Burial will be in the Minden cemetery.

A retired merchant, Mr. Elzen came to Minden in 1902 and had been in business from that time until he retired in 1945. Management of his store was taken over after his retirement by a son, Fred T. Elzen.

Mr. Elzen was born in Dahr-Safra, Syria.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Joe Elzen, Sr. five daughters, Mrs. Nick Joseph, Shreveport, Mrs. Randell Mason, Shreveport, Mrs. Rose Goff, Shreveport, Miss Eva Elzen, Mansfield and Mrs. Harold Brown, Minden; two sons, Joe A. Elzen, Jr., Springhill, and Fred T. Elzen, Minden; and 12 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gus Kirkikis, Waddie LaHood, O.H. Haynes, Jr., Anice Michael, Bob Antoon, Clarence Wiley, Richard Garrison and Jack Bridges.
