William C. Guettner - age 90 of Kingston, went to be with Jesus on Friday, October 10, 2014. He was a wonderful Christian man who lived it everyday. He was devoted to his family and his church. Bill was a member of New Midway Baptist Church in Kingston and retired from Y-12 in Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by "the love of his life", his wife, Josephine Soward Guettner; parents, Christie and Nannie Guettner; brothers, Elmer, Perry, Frank, Leonard, and Ed; sisters, Blanche Farmer and Gladys Johnston.
Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Russ Limburg; grandson, Nathan Limburg; great-grandson, James William Limburg; sisters-in-law, Faye Guettner of Kingston and Bernice Soward of Liberty, Indiana; nieces, Marlene Henry, Katherine Luttrell, and Glenda Neal (Tom); nephews, Calvin Guettner, Jack Guettner (Kathy), Mike Johnston (Marsha), Gary Johnston (Cindy) Patrick Guettner (Rachel), Roger Soward (Trudy), and Steve Soward; many great nieces, great nephews and several cousins.
The family would like to express their special thanks and appreciation to the staff of Professional Case Management who cared for him with such loving kindness for the past year, and to Amedysis Hospice for their care since August.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 13th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Rod Garrett and Rev. Howard Huffine officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 am. Tuesday morning and proceed to the Poplar Springs Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Midway Baptist Church in Mr. Guettners' memory.
