Fred Hargis Maynard was born on September 26, 1895 in Jackson County, Tennessee, the son of Levi Preston"Press" Maynard (1861–1941) and Saffroney Tennessee "Frona" (Spivey) Maynard (1870–ca 1895).
He was married on February 16, 1919 in Macon County to Lillian Virginia Hawkins (1902-1985), the daughter of William Booker Hawkins (1869–1956) and Martha Louise Hawkins (1875–1948).
Fred was a farmer on River Road, Rural Route 2, Nashville. Fred was 48 years old and had been separated from his wife and children for many years (they were not divorced) when he died of pneumonia on December 28, 1943 at Davidson County Hospital where he had been for a day. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison (city]. His grave is unmarked.
