Mrs. Martin was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City. Voncile enjoyed entertaining and caring for her family.
Voncile is preceded in death by her loving husband, John D. Martin, of 64 beautiful years; parents, Franklin Augustus and Mary Etta Ellis Henderson; brothers, Earl (Mable), John (Minnie), Macon (Mavis), Clem (Marjie); sisters, Ida (Jay), Dovie (Julius) and Davonia (Chappele)
She is survived by her daughter, Marti Martin Burdick (Joel); son, Doug Martin (Nancy); grandchildren, Tina Ford (Jim), Winston Pennington, II, (Katherine), Michael Martin (Cate), John Okenfus (Marianna), and Matthew Martin; eight great grandchildren, Annalyse Olson, Ciara Olson, Winston Pennington, III, Nathaniel Pennington, Miles Martin, Cadance Martin, Ethan Pennington and Twyla Martin; great-great granddaughter Anna Valk; sister-in-law Virginia Brabham and many very loved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The Rev Clyde Ellison will be officiating. Donnie Smith and Marsha Burns will be conducting the music. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Tony Harper, the Deacon Emeritus of First Baptist Church of Panama City, and Sunday school class members.
By request of the family, donations could be sent in her memory to Florida Baptist Children's Home.
